MetroPCS has now officially been rebranded underneath the T-Mobile Wireless umbrella after being acquired by T-Mobile on May 1, 2013. Metro was originally founded in 1994 as General Wireless, Inc., but has evolved over the last 24 years into one of the top 10 cell service carriers in the United States.
