More than 98.4% of New York residents have access to wired or wireless Internet with speeds of at least 10 Mbps. More than 69% of the state has at least 3 Internet service providers to choose from. Because of these levels of connectivity, 80.6% of New Yorkers have high speed Internet access at home, higher than the national average. Yet, still a mere 4.2% of New Yorkers have no Internet connection at work or home.

Since 2009, the NY State Office of Cyber Security & Critical Infrastructure has been awarded $8,923,532.00 in federal dollars for New York's "New York Broadband Program" program. New York has awarded these monies to 13 organizations and departments within the state.
