Best Internet Providers in Hermosa
Hermosa sits under the Black Hills. With the town clustered along Main Street and the county roads that fan into ranchland, providers tended to place towers and line work where houses and businesses are tightest. Fixed wireless and 5G home service are concentrated in downtown Hermosa and along the county road corridors, while satellite providers cover most of the surrounding properties. So residents near the center usually get lower-latency wireless connections good for streaming and video calls, but once you climb the hills many households fall back to satellite with higher latency, limited uploads, and variable performance when trees or winter weather interfere.
In Hermosa, internet competition varies by neighborhood, but most residents have multiple options to choose from. After reviewing provider availability, plan pricing, typical speeds, and customer sentiment across the 18 areas we track, here are our top recommendations for 2026.
HughesNet is the standout pick if it is available at your address. With speeds up to 100 Mbps, it is often the best option for gaming, remote work, and busy households with many users and connected devices. Availability has expanded across parts of Hermosa, so it is worth checking your exact address first.
Hanson Communications is usually the most widely available choice in Hermosa and a strong option when you need a reliable connection. Its network reaches approximately 100% of Hermosa, with speeds up to 8 Mbps and plans starting around N/A/mo, making it the most accessible option for many residents. In neighborhoods where HughesNet is not offered yet, Hanson Communications is often the best overall mix of speed and price.
Earthlink 5G Home Internet can be a strong third option if you would rather keep things simple, with straightforward pricing around $39.95/mo and fewer stipulations.
Coverage reaches roughly 86% of Hermosa, and speeds range between 50 Mbps and 100 Mbps, which is enough for streaming, video calls, and everyday home use. It can be a great fit in parts of Hermosa where signal strength is strong.
Hanson Communications or Viasat may still offer service in parts of Hermosa, if none of these are available at your address, with speeds up to 8 Mbps. Since promotions change often, it is always smart to check current deals before you order.
